Questions
Open a question to read the answer. Use search to narrow the list.
Do I need to pay to try HuntBros?
No. The free plan lets you join a hunt organized by a Pro or Élite member and follow the group on the live map. No credit card required.
Organizing your own hunts, offline mode and HuntBros Scout require a Pro or Élite plan. Without a signal, a free account stays read-only: cached maps and data remain visible, but new markers and messages are not saved.
Can I create a hunt on the free plan?
No. Creating and organizing a hunt requires a Pro or Élite plan.
On the free plan you join an existing hunt with the invite code the organizer shares with you — everyone in the group does not need to pay, only the person who organizes the hunt.
Is the subscription per user or per group?
Per user, and only the organizer needs a paid plan to start a hunt.
Each hunter needs their own subscription to unlock Pro or Elite features (proximity alerts, line-of-fire tools, full trail history, etc.) during a live hunt.
Free accounts can join any hunt organized by a Pro or Élite member, but are limited to 2 hours of live tracking per session.
Does HuntBros work without cellular coverage?
Yes — with the HuntBros Scout module, which requires a Pro or Élite plan. It connects to your phone via Bluetooth and relays positions, statuses, and alerts between hunters up to about 10 km, without any cellular network.
What happens if I lose network coverage?
In Live mode, HuntBros uses a cellular or Wi‑Fi connection to sync positions through our servers in real time.
If someone loses signal:
- Their last known position stays on the map
- You can see they are not in Live Mode
- Live updates resume automatically when the connection returns
When you hunt where coverage is weak or absent, HuntBros Scout is the solution: the companion device keeps the group coordinated without relying on the cellular network. It connects to your phone over Bluetooth and exchanges data with other Scouts over radio within mesh range. Scout requires a Pro or Élite plan; pairing and hardware setup use the HuntBros Android app on the same account.
Why does HuntBros ask for my location?
Location access lets the map show where you are and share your live position with members of the same private hunt session (when you join the room and tracking is active).
You can use many HuntBros features without sharing live GPS, but the real-time map and safety tools need permission to work as intended.
How many hunters can join a group?
It depends on the organizer's plan: Pro allows up to 4 hunters per hunt and Élite up to 8. A free account can join those hunts but cannot organize one.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time.
If you're on a Season Pass, your access remains active until the end of the billing period.
Is HuntBros suitable for real hunting conditions?
Yes. HuntBros is designed specifically for small hunting groups in real field conditions, with a focus on safety and simplicity.
Where cellular service is poor or unavailable, adding HuntBros Scout lets the group stay coordinated off the network (see the question on coverage above). Scout requires a Pro or Élite plan.
Is there a native iOS or Android app?
Not yet. HuntBros works in your phone's web browser today, and you can add it to your home screen for quick access — see the Help center guide “Install HuntBros as an app” (iOS Safari and Android Chrome). We're building native apps for iOS and Android and will let you know as soon as they're ready.
